SQL Formatter & Syntax Checker
SQL is the language used to read and change relational data. This formatter uppercases keywords, breaks major clauses onto new lines and indents select lists, then runs a lightweight structural check for unbalanced parentheses, unterminated strings and suspicious clause order.
What the formatter does — and does not do
Formatting is lexical: it recognises strings, quoted identifiers, comments, numbers and keywords, then reflows them. It does not understand your schema, so it cannot validate column names, types or joins.
The syntax check catches the mistakes that break a query before execution — unclosed quotes, mismatched brackets, a missing FROM — but a clean report is not a guarantee. Run the query against a test database with EXPLAIN before trusting it in production.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs and files are processed locally and are never sent to or stored on Kinetikatech servers.
