In-Browser OCR
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) turns pixels in an image into selectable text. Drop a screenshot, scan or photo and Tesseract.js reads it in a Web Worker on your device; the first run downloads the engine and language data (cached afterwards), and the image is never uploaded.
What is OCR?
OCR detects character shapes in an image and converts them into machine-readable text, so a scanned invoice becomes searchable or copyable. Accuracy depends on resolution, contrast and skew — clean, straight, high-DPI scans work best; handwriting is unreliable.
Scanned pages with dense text take longer. Nothing is uploaded; the engine and language data come from a CDN.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs and files are processed locally and are never sent to or stored on Kinetikatech servers.
