Font Payload Optimizer

Web fonts often ship Cyrillic, Greek or CJK glyphs a site never renders. Load a TTF or OTF to see which Unicode blocks it covers and how much of the file each block represents, then generate a pyftsubset command and matching unicode-range for the blocks you actually need.

How font subsetting works

A font file contains glyph outlines plus tables that map Unicode codepoints to glyphs. Subsetting keeps only the codepoints you list, drops unused outlines and rewrites the mapping tables, typically cutting a multilingual font by half or more.

Browsers cannot decompress WOFF2 here, so convert to TTF first (fonttools ttLib.woff2 decompress). Always test the subset with your real copy, including ligatures and accented characters; over-aggressive subsetting causes missing-glyph boxes.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs and files are processed locally and are never sent to or stored on Kinetikatech servers.
