Dockerfile Generator & Validator
A Dockerfile describes how to build a container image: base image, dependencies, source files, runtime user and start command. Generate a multi-stage file for your stack, or paste an existing Dockerfile to catch floating tags, root users, leaked secrets and cache-busting copies.
Why multi-stage builds matter
Each instruction creates a layer. Copying manifests before source lets dependency installation stay cached when only code changes, and a second stage keeps compilers and dev dependencies out of the runtime image.
Pin base image versions (or digests) for reproducibility, run as a non-root user, combine package installs with cleanup in one layer, and pass secrets through BuildKit instead of ENV or ARG. The validator is heuristic — review the final image with a scanner as well.
