Color Contrast Auditor
WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) sets minimum contrast between text and its background so low-vision users can read it. Enter both colours to compute the ratio and see whether normal text and large text pass AA (4.5:1 / 3:1) or AAA (7:1 / 4.5:1).
What is contrast ratio?
It compares the relative luminance of two colours on a 1:1 to 21:1 scale. WCAG AA needs 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text (18pt, or 14pt bold); AAA needs 7:1 and 4.5:1. Placeholders, disabled states and icons still need to be legible.
